A trip to Mount Silcox is best when planned ahead. You will need good hiking shoes, plenty of water, at least one meal (or several snacks), plenty of stamina, and of course, a camera to capture your experiences! There are several ways to get to the top, depending upon whether you'd like to start at the bottom and make it an overnight trip, or drive as far as the highest trailhead, and hike from there. Our directions are from the highest trailhead, which is still a 2 1/2 to 3 hour moderate to strenuous hike each way.

Directions to Mount Silcox:

From Main St. (Hwy. 200) in Thompson Falls, head East to Thompson River Road. Turn left, and stay on the west side of the river for about 7 miles. Turn left on the West Fork, and go a couple of mile to Liver Ridge Rd. Follow Liver Ridge Rd till it ends, and you will see the brush covered trailhead on the right. The pictures below were all taken from along this trail.
